What do UX interviewers actually look for?

Interviewers want to understand how you think, how you collaborate, and whether your process holds up under pressure. They care more about your decision-making and storytelling than a list of methods you've used.

How do I prepare my UX portfolio for interviews?

Pick three projects you can flex into multiple stories. Practice your project walkthrough out loud using a four-part structure: context, role, decisions, outcome. Record yourself and fix drift in the first 60 seconds.

What are common UX interview formats?

Most UX interview loops include a recruiter screen, a portfolio review, a behavioral round, a case study or design exercise, and a final cultural fit interview. Each tests a different skill — storytelling, craft, collaboration, and values alignment.

Is there a proven formula for answering UX interview questions?

Yes. For project walkthroughs, use context → role → decisions → outcome. For behavioral questions, pick moments where you genuinely shifted your point of view or found evidence that helped the group align.
